Description

After an exhaustive search and due diligence for a luxury performance blue water cruising catamaran, you have narrowed your search to the Outremer 52, HH 50SC, or Balance 482/526. But there is another luxury performance blue water cruising catamaran you should research, the Italian-built ITA 14.99. Below are just a few of many points why . . . .

Navitas has a great blend of sailing capability and livability. She is exciting to sail and achieves great performance both up wind and down wind, often achieving boat speed equal or better than true wind speed in light air conditions. Navitas has beautiful all wood interior is American Walnut veneer, cored with balsa for improved longevity of using wood screws in door/cabinet hinges and drawer slider hardware. She boasts an abundance of interior space and storage uncommon for a performance catamaran while still staying well within her designed total displacement.

Designed by the multiple award-winning naval architect Francois Perus of Yacht Design Collective. The ITA 14.99 was designed with wave-piercing reverse sheer bows, semi-planning hulls, minimal hull rocker, and daggerboards.

The deck is designed for ease of sailing handling thanks to her oversized Harken Radial Rewind electrical winches controlled from within the cockpit or from both helm stations. The decks and coachroof are void of lines for increased safety and clean appearance. She boasts abundant interior space and storage uncommon for a performance catamaran.
Winner of 2020 Multihull Boat of The Year by Voile Magazine.

Tooling of the molds were fabricated using a computerized 5-axis router for producing precision molds. Prior to construction Rivoyre Ingenierie produced a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to calculate loads for the entire structure. Construction consists of only 3 molds with (1) both hulls and bridgedeck laminated in one-shot, (2) deck mold laminated in one-shot, as well as (3) roof mold.
The hulls, deck, and roof are constructed using E-glass, Core Cell Sans foam core, and epoxy resin infusion post cured including carbon primary bulkheads, carbon longitudinal stringers, chain plates, and daggerboard casings. The longeron is carbon composite and forward crossbeam consists of a laminated carbon I-beam encased in a composite shell. All thru hulls and deck fittings are in solid laminate to prevent moisture penetrating the foam core. For added safety there are several watertight bulkheads and crash boxes.

The ITA Catamaran shipyard is located in Fano, Italy that is often referred to as the “Silicon Valley” of the Italian yacht building industry where there is a deep pool of passionate craftsmen normally with decades of experience.
NAVITAS has been maintained in Bristol condition by its owners with an open checkbook. To date there have been 9 ITA 14.99 launched. NAVITAS is hull #2 and Canadian flagged.
